Missing convict found hiding near San Quentin classroom
A three hour search by San Quentin guards failed to flush out convict Anthony James Garrity 24 who hid outside a prison classroom after a Sunday escape attempt signaled by a dummy in his bed. Garrity had fled in 1953 from a San Francisco jail while awaiting rape trial and was captured in Hartford in 1954.
