Soviet Offer of Aid to Asia and Africa Metrics of Nationalization
A July 1956 scene shows Soviet officials promoting aid to Asia and Africa as a model for rapid nationalization. The discourse links Indonesia and Egypt to potential nationalization of Dutch enterprises, highlighting Soviet nonconditional aid and Western interference as contrasts. NAACP objects to delayed integration ruling in Dallas case
The NAACP argues the Dallas school board had two years to begin integration since the Feb 5 1953 suit, noting 28 Negro children initially sought admission to multiple schools. Officials warn a confirmed Jan 27 date would affect 20 to 25 schools, while Dallas numbers show 18 807 of 106 1/2 thousand students are Negro. No NAACP leaders could comment on the appeals decision.

Defense spending outlook shifts with new funds goals
Washington officials said a backlog of military orders and higher obligations may push defense spending to about 5 to 6 billion dollars in 1958, with a possible extra five to six billion in available funds. A special addition of about a billion dollars may be sought for the current year, as contract letting and spending slowly pick up after a late 1957 lull. AFL CIO President George Meany warned that reduced defense outlays would only provide temporary relief and urged higher wages to sustain long term economic health.

Leslie Wildey and Jerome G. Colton described Miller as mentally disturbed while seeking a second degree murder verdict and commitment to a state institution.
