Long Beach Christian Science Churches And Their History
The Long Beach Christian Science movement grew from a home study in 1896 to a network of branch churches guided by The Mother Church. By 1912 a dedicated Elm Avenue edifice was planned, with reading rooms and a 1919 Elm Street church dedication. The story covers church growth, key personalities, and Mary Baker Eddy’s influence, noting earthquakes, alternate meeting spaces, and the evolution of multiple congregations in Long Beach.
