New Trial Ordered in Acid Case
The State Supreme Court ordered a new trial for Antonia Thomas a 24 year old San Clemente woman convicted of murdering her 20 day old son by pouring caustic material down his throat. The ruling upheld Orange County Superior Court Judge Bruce Sumner who declared a mistrial after one juror said I just went along with the majority. The district attorney appealed seeking a new trial while the defense argued double jeopardy. No date set for the hearing or trial. Westminster City Council will meet in special session at 9 30 am Saturday in City Hall conference room.

Home Ransacked in Lime Avenue Burglary Report
Richard L. Harris of 1030 Lime Avenue told police Thursday his home was ransacked by burglars who fled with clothing a stereo tape recorder and records valued at 252 dollars.
