Jokes Beautiful Girls Open Hope Viet Nam Show
About 12 000 U S troops in Da Nang welcomed Bob Hope for a Christmas show with jokes and beautiful girls. The crowd, some on tanks, wore flak jackets while seats up front held sailors from a hospital ship. Lt Gen Cushman attended as Marines stood in muddyFreedom Hill. The show featured Miss Welch and Madeline Hartog Bel with Les Brown, ending to Silent Night as artillery fired in the distance.
