Organist Kenny Carr performs at the 3636 Club on Broadway, bending over the bench and playing with his feet while delivering fast rock and rhythm styled by Ray Charles and Fats Domino influences. He often stays in the crouch for up to 15 minutes drawing standing ovations from patrons. He grew up in California, studied at Santa Ana Junior College, and began piano after abandoning accordion, later earning $2 an hour in a prior job as a cowboy robber in a staged production.
