Ex-GI alleges hashish use at German nuclear base
Milwaukee AP reports ex-Army code and cipher specialist Donald W. Meyer, 25, of Watertown, says hashish was frequently used by about 95 percent of the 225 missilemen at a German TK Artillery Detachment near the Czechoslovak border. He claims some soldiers worked under its influence and expects Army investigators. Defense officials cite an Army study showing daily hashish use among 8 percent of men in West Germany and a 1974 record of 3,017 personnel with access to nuclear weapons removed for drugs or discipline issues.
