Kennick of Adkins to Attend Postponed Sentencing
Three Long Beach officials and a former county official face delayed sentencing in Los Angeles Superior Court as part of a national conference on youth welfare. Kenrick, ex-superintendent of the Long Beach juvenile bureau, was nominated to the state advisory panel on children and youth. The proceedings tie to looting claims and estates managed under Adkins jurisdiction during his tenure. The conference, championed since 1909, aims to raise health, welfare, and training standards for children with funding from foundations, individuals, and federal sources.
