Mistrial Declared After Pastor's Remark At Trial
In Decatur Georgia a mistrial was declared when a minister’s pulpit remark during the embezzlement case of Margaret L Burton alias Janet Gray tainted the proceedings. Juror Wil Pittman was not at fault according to the judge but the statement harmed the presumption of innocence. Burton is accused of stealing 186 757 over 31 months as bookkeeper and manager of a clinic run by four doctors.
