Legislature and panel face legal cloud over redistricting
In Sacramento a constitutional question colors both the Legislature and Lt. Governor Reinecke’s Reapportionment Commission as they plan meetings on remapping the 40 Senate and 60 Assembly districts. The commission warns its legality is in doubt while lawmakers may also be unable to act under the state constitution without a first regular session following the decennial census.
