Black Garb Linked to Tate Killers Found Near Canyon

A television crew found black clothing believed worn by Sharon Tate killers in a canyon near Benedict Canyon. The items included three black T-shirts three black jeans and one white T-shirt crusted with dried blood. Police had searched the area after a notice about suspects and a box with a pistol was recovered elsewhere.

Dense fog triggers Santa Ana Freeway pileups injuring fifty

Fog rolled in as a tow truck triggered a chain reaction on the Santa Ana Freeway east of Tustin Monday morning. About 125 cars were involved in three major rear end crashes with 45 people injured and two killed, Roger Wayne Scott 21 and Edmund Verhaeghe 23, per Harbor Division.

Draft defier Hayden Son given 32 year term

Hayden Son Hayden 21 son of actor Sterling Hayden was sentenced by Judge Manuel Real to 32 years for draft law violations after being found guilty of failing to report for a March 6 armed forces physical and a May 6 induction. He acted as his own attorney and argued against fighting and Selective Service laws. He had previous acquittals and a mistrial. He plans to appeal.

Nixon to Withdraw 50000 More Vietnam Troops by April

President Nixon announced plans to pull at least 50,000 additional U.S. combat troops from Vietnam by April 15 to show willingness to take risks for peace. He said Paris talks made no progress and warned Hanoi that escalating infiltration could raise the enemy risk as U.S. forces are reduced, with total combat forces down to 549,000 from January 20 levels.
