Reagan Promises Prompt Action on Finch Replacement
Governor Reagan said he will begin talks across California to fill the lieutenant governor vacancy created by Lt. Gov. Robert H. Finch's appointment as health and welfare secretary. He aims to announce a successor soon, noting Finch will preside over the Senate opening session on January 6 and that potential appointees include state officials and aides while he avoids selecting a sitting lawmaker to avoid a costly special election.
