Bonelli Urges Austerity Split Over County Budget Plan
Los Angeles County supervisors debated Bonelli austerity proposals for the 1964-65 budget. A 4-1 vote adopted Burton W. Chace's motion to include only mandatory, critical and urgent items. Bonelli urged a general moratorium on capital outlays and new hires, while some supervisors urged restraint until budget hearings.
