21YearOld Man Convicted of Shooting Granada Hills Boy
A 21 year old man, David Daniel Cardenas, was found guilty of first degree murder in Los Angeles for killing 15 year old Robert Hand during a liquor store robbery on August 15 1968. The jury will decide if Cardenas faces life imprisonment or the gas chamber. Hand died after being shot in front of the Granada Hills store. his father John Hand testified he found his son on the floor with Cardenas over him. Cardenas was arrested with his brother Robert who faced a separate concealment charge. the brother's trial is set for December 16 in Van Nuys.

Kidnapping Suspect Extradited From Las Vegas
Los Angeles authorities arrest 26 year old Charles Edward Collier who waived extradition to face charges of kidnapping Cindy Birdsong of the Supremes. Birdsong, 30, escaped unharmed after being abducted at knife point from a Hollywood apartment Tuesday night and fled on a freeway. Collier turned himself in to Las Vegas police on Wednesday.

China Plant Bombed in Canton by Anti Maoists
The China Mail reported anti Maoist attackers bombed a factory in Canton on October 27, killing several and wounding others. The same group also damaged a central telephone exchange switchboard with a time bomb, the paper said.
