Union Dispute Over Welfare Office Posters Boils Over
County social workers accuse the Department of Public Social Services of unfair labor practices over posting rules in welfare offices. A union fight centers on 8 by 10 inch posters claimed as membership certificates and removal of photos and a flag. The conflict involves an investigation into an alleged threat and a political clash tied to a past supervisor race. The ACLU has joined claiming censorship and free speech violations as both sides push for a settlement at a 9 am meeting.
