Reagan rejects compromise Biddle appointment blocked
Senate Democrats blocked the confirmation of W. Craig Biddle to the Worker's Compensation Appeals Board after a last minute compromise with Gov Reagan. The Rules Committee adjourned after a 23 hour hearing without a vote. Reagan refused to nominate Biddle to the State Youth Authority unless Leonard Levy was also approved. Labor opposed Biddle to the seven member board. Swezey and Levy were favored.
