Tribute Paid Heroic Chicago Nuns at Rites
In Chicago, three heroic nuns and five children were laid to rest as the first of 90 dead in the Our Lady of the Angels School fire were mourned. Ten thousand mourners filled the parish church, sniffing smoke from the school next door as they honored the sisters who perished with the children. A funeral sermon echoed the gospel call to let the children come, invoking the 14th chapter of Mark.
