Missing Girl Found in Hippie Colony Near Chico
Butte County sheriff deputies and Fish and Game officers raided a Whiskey Flat hippie colony about 25 miles east of Chico and found a 15-year-old girl missing since November 16 living with three men and two toddlers. Marc Weisberg, 20, charged with statutory rape. Michael Lamere, 18, and Frederick Sinn, 19, charged with marijuana possession and illegal deer meat possession. The girl taken to juvenile hall. others held in county jail. Babies aged 1 and 3 with the girl’s sister’s children evacuated from the remote site. Venison, marijuana plants and seeds found. hippies had moved here after eviction from Chico.

Ocean Floor Bases Housing 1 000 Men Slated for Study
North American Rockwell Corp will study undersea bases capable of housing up to 1,000 personnel for 39 days to one year at depths of 600, 2,000, and 6,000 feet.
