Beach series ends with verve at Seal Beach concert
Seal Beach Haydn Orchestra closed the Chamber Music Festival with a Baroque heavy program at the First United Methodist Church. Conductor Alan Parker kept brisk tempos in Bach Brandenburg No 3 while inserting the adagio from Bach’s cello sonata as a slow cushion. Telemann and Pachelbel offerings drew praise for the violin trio performance. Bartók and Beethoven pieces showed moments of struggle but featured strong ensemble work from Collins Bryant Koerner, Parker, Schaefer, Noble, and Baslawn.

Insurance break for RTD hit
Los Angeles County supervisors opposed Assembly Bill 144 saying it would strip RTD of general liability coverage for uninsured motorists.
