Water supply study warns California needs over 100 million annually
Sacramento top water official Harvey Banks told a legislative committee that California must spend far more than 100 million dollars each year to meet rising water demand. He said current federal and agency funding around 160 million is insufficient and urged focus on financing policy before tackling benefits and costs of large projects like Feather River. Overdrafts on groundwater may reach 11.6 million acre feet annually by 1965.
