Stronger food laws advocated by Rep Rosenthal
Washington Rep Benjamin Rosenthal proposed a bill to create a single food safety agency to enforce federal standards, replacing split duties of the FDA and Agriculture Department. He cited botulism cases linked to Bon Vivant and Campbell’s soup, noted four years without FDA inspection of Ben Nigant, and urged labeling of manufacturers on products produced for others.
