Informer Defense Outlined At Trial On December Incident
Deputy District Attorney David Feldman directed proceedings as Judge Miller delayed further inquiry. Adler testified about aiding arrests of a fugitive at 1349 Dawson Ave last December, claiming he used undercover status to cover up his role. He described encounters with Branson and Hardin and noted prior narcotics work in Tijuana. Adler claimed Webster and Willis Panhandle faced similar police informant issues, with Branson downplaying Adler’s undercover role and urging secrecy. The defense argues Adler and Webster acted to assist police, including a marijuana party incident on December 20 that led to arrests.
