Brown OKs Amtrak trip subsidy in California
SACRAMENTO AP Gov Brown signs a contract with Amtrak to subsidize a fourth daily Los Angeles to San Diego train. The state will pay about 1 million dollars yearly for six months, with a goal to test ridership and reduce auto use. The new service, starting next Wednesday, will run 4:10 p.m. from LA and 6:20 p.m. from San Diego, carrying 228 passengers with three cars and a dining coach.
