Atlantic City police admitted misidentifying detainee Charles Albert Nehus, 18, of McKees Rock, Pa., who turned out to be 17 year old Phillis Kachur from Tiverton R I. She had been held in the men’s section on theft charges and shared a cell with a male inmate.

The coroner reported a 23 year old woman who jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge remains unidentified. A fishing boat recovered the body, she stood five feet four, weighed 125 pounds and was seen moments before going over the rail. This marks the 376th death by own action at the span.
