Unemployed rallying in Sacramento cites joblessness as No 1 problem
About 200 job seekers rallied on the California Capitol steps as Lt. Gov Mer vin Dymally and Assembly Speaker Leo McCarthy labeled unemployment the state's top issue. They urged higher state spending on job programs, criticized Gov. Brown's tax stance, and called for a permanent employment committee and full use of all resources to fight unemployment. Meanwhile 45 Los Angeles teachers protested a bill allowing collective bargaining for public workers.
