Helicopter Service to Resume by Los Angeles Airways
Los Angeles Airways will resume limited service Wednesday after a crash killed 21 aboard a Sikorsky S-61. The company will operate half of normal flights with four S-61s fitted with new rotor spindle units. The National Transportation Safety Board pinpointed metal fatigue in a spindle as the probable cause of the Aug. 14 Compton park crash that killed 18 passengers and three crew.
