Visit to McNally's Inn Promises Huge Steaks
Vacation report from Kern canyon describes McNally's beside the Kern River at Fairview on state Hwy 1. John Saltzgaver now owns the western steak house and serves oversized steaks with salad, relishes, baked potato, hot bread, and ice cream. The writer notes monstrous portions and a past abundance of buzzing yellow jackets on river trips, but reports few insects this year and one memorable lettuce and baloney sandwich encounter. A second stop highlights Apple Annie's with big pizzas and gooey sundaes.
