Father’s Lawyer Confident Painter Boy Won’t Have Say in Where He Lives
The father of 10 year old Mark Painter seeks custody in Santa Cruz Superior Court on Aug 28 after an Iowa Supreme Court ruling favored the grandparents. The boy’s wishes are not to determine custody, as his lawyer frames the case around the father’s legal right to custody and the need to decide in court. A private meeting occurred in San Francisco between Mark and a minister from Ames Iowa, arranged by the boy’s grandparents. The minister’s visit is described as a friendly one, and access to the Painter home was denied during the minister’s request to inspect the residence.
