Brown says state chief not certain on appointment
Brown spoke at the Institute of World Affairs at San Diego State College admitting he has not made up his mind. He said Mosk’s expulsion as a judge would entitle him to appointment, and that any associate justice could be chief. He supported Prop 14 but avoided naming backers. He praised Pierre Salinger’s Senate confirmation as vindication of his position and predicted Republicans would back Johnson. Brown’s remarks followed a San Diego event and a planned Santa Barbara stop.
