Riverside Pair Die on Trek in Saline Valley
Two of three Riverside hikers missing for four days in Inyo County were found dead in Saline Valley. Identified as Arnold Dobson 65 and Harold Mast 16, both Riverside residents. Sheriff deputies say exposure caused the deaths. Mast's father Harold is still missing.

Infant Dies in Mother's Arms in Plane Crash
An 18‑month‑old girl, Lisa Houghton, died at the scene when a single‑engine Piper Cherokee crashed near M Nor vel Young’s home. Her mother Wanda Houghton and husband Raymond were injured.
