Air California Boosts California Route With 51 Daily Flights
Air California will raise its schedule to 51 daily flights linking Orange County with the northern Bay Area. Six new nonstop OC to Oakland services start, with 17 nonstop DC-9 flights to San Francisco, 18 Electra to San Jose, and 16 Electra to Oakland. Extra flights bookend weekends, extending through late summer after Labor Day.

Gardner Funeral Held for Slain Long Beach Student
James Michael Gardner 21, a Long Beach City College student, was shot to death near the San Diego Freeway as he rode home to Santa Ana. Funeral services were 11 a.m. at the Church of the Messiah Santa Ana with Rev. William Mayo officiating. Interment at Fairhaven Cemetery. His brother, serving in the U S Navy in Vietnam, was delayed for return to the Southland.

Lomita Woman Dies After Wilmington Crash
Pearl E Harbour, 72, of Lomita died from injuries after a collision at Los Verdes Drive North and Anaheim Street in Wilmington. She was riding a three wheeled vehicle when it struck a car driven by 17 year old Robert Sak of Rolling Hills Estates, who sustained minor injuries.
