Welcome to Nixon in Poland sparks large Polish welcome
London Up-Radio Mos cow Sunday night broadcast a Polish explanation of why Vice President Richard M Nixon received a warm welcome in Poland last week. The Polish Communist Party paper Trybuca Ledu quoted a letter asking what they wished to express. It said Nixon earned about 250000 Polish cheers for peaceful ideas shown in Moscow. Western observers noted the spontaneous crowd and suggested Kremlin discomfort with the display.
