Nixon disavows open housing quotes in Miami Herald transcript

The Nixon campaign disputed portions of a Miami Herald transcription of remarks made in Miami Beach during a Tuesday closed door meeting with southern delegates. Bruce Wheahan said Nixon had not reviewed the transcript and Herbert Klein noted some items were accurate while others were not. Rockefeller accused Nixon of courting Southern delegates with promises. The Herald quoted Nixon on unity and avoiding a divided party.
