Lana Turner’s Seventh Husband Cleared in Theft Case
Dr. Roland Dante, Lana Turner’s seventh husband and nightclub hypnotist, had grand theft charges dropped in Santa Ana Municipal Court. Prosecutors argued there was a long delay between the complaint and arrest, and two officers were on vacation, leaving the case unable to counter defense claims of lack of diligence. Dante allegedly took seven motorboats from a Santa Ana boatyard in May 1968, but owners testified his check bounced and he later reported gunfire at his West Hollywood residence, a separate incident under investigation.
