Firemen Rescue Daed Man From Tower At Refinery
A 43 year old Long Beach man Leon S Smellgrove was overcome by hydrogen sulfide fumes while working on a valve 70 feet up a Wilmington Union Oil refinery tower. Firemen used an aerial ladder to lower him to ground level and ambulance service took him to St Marys Hospital. The rescue lasted 21 minutes.

Hollinger Upholds Case Against Noguchi’s Dismissal
