Plane crash into Landmark Tower in Las Vegas kills mechanic
A 39 year old Everett Wayne Shaw died when his stolen Cessna 180 slammed into the Landmark Tower near the Las Vegas Strip. He was despondent over his month old marriage breakup and left notes indicating distress. The plane then struck the Las Vegas Convention Center, causing minor damage and no injuries among staff present.

Californian Tells Congo Jail Ordeal
Jerome B. Weaver of Beaumont California described 10 days in a Brazzaville Congo Republic jail on suspicion of espionage. He said he was held in a windowless cell with 37 inmates, interrogated up to eight men daily, and beaten once. Bodies found in Central Park murder and suicide ruled
A tourist found a young red haired woman murdered and dumped in Central Park. Hours later two dog walkers found a man hanging from a tree. Police linked the death to no connection and identified the woman as 20 year old Ramames Olivieri of the Bronx as a possible suicide or homicide.
