Kennedys inquest clash over the Edgartown tragedy
The Massachusetts attorney general warned against prosecuting Kennedy citing a Supreme Court ruling. Kennedy recalled leaving a Chappaquiddick party with Mary Jo Kopechne, turning onto a dirt road, and the car entering the water. A grand jury closed findings while the judge urged caution about criminal conduct in the accident.
