Apollo 13 Oxygen Tank Explosion Probed In Colorado
Three space officials investigating the Apollo 13 oxygen tank blast toured the Beechcraft facility in Boulder and NASA centers. They reviewed tank construction and testing, noting tank linings tested to 1,357 psi and the double wall design. Officials said abnormal heating likely caused rapid oxygen expansion and tank rupture, with debris damaging other equipment.
