King Assassin Suspect Named in FBI Photos and Travel Route
The FBI released two photos of Gail Galt with notes on eye drawings and described him as a loner with brush-cut brown hair blue eyes and a medium build. Investigators traced Galt’s travels to Los Angeles New Orleans Birmingham and Mexico and Atlanta after the King slaying. A Birmingham rifle purchase around March 30 remains unlinked to him. Rod Arvidson of National Dance Studios identified Galt as a former pupil from 1967 to 1968, with other instructors confirming the lesson history and lack of prejudice or grace noted by staff. Galt paid cash for 50 lessons totalling 465 but did not complete the course, with the last sighting in February.
