Two Taxi Firms Seek Airport Passenger Service Franchise
Two firms seek state approval to operate limousine service between Santa Ana and Anaheim and Los Angeles International Airport. A. R. Britton of Long Beach Limousine Service and D. W. Boyles of Airport Coach Service filed for a certificate to carry passengers between Santa Ana and the airport, opposing Mercury International Transit Co which also plans a Long Beach stop. The firms cite rising demand for airport to Disneyland travel and note no current comparable service. Mercury proposes fares of 2.17 to Long Beach and 3.48 to Santa Ana, with Anaheim pricing to be set. Britton already runs downtown Long Beach to LAX.

Two Men Sentenced on Forgery Charges by Superior Court
Superior Judge Beach Vasey Monday sentenced two men for forgery. Alexander Cameron Mace Donald, 42, of 1005 Orange Ave, a paint salesman with a prior felony, drew a Setoeld-year term after cashing two worthless checks for 257.50 on March 6. Joseph Bruton Robertson, 37, of 615 E Ocean Blvd, received a 1 to 1 and a half year term after being extradited from San Francisco February 26 for passing two forged checks totaling 155 and then pleading guilty in Municipal Court March 15.
