Motorcycle Riders Boycott Shuts Down Ascot Park Events
Last week’s riders boycott at Ascot Park forced promoter JC Agajanian to replace a flat-track card with a USAC midget show. Dispute centers on pay, with riders seeking more money while Agajanian alternately raises or lowers purses. The Bay Cities event drew top midget drivers including Johnny Morehouse and Duane Sears, alongside a strong Southern California and Northern contingent. Also on tap: three quarter midgets at Anaheim Convention Center and various other regional racing actions this weekend.
