Priest to face board in communion issue
Rev. R. Franklin Gose of Reading will appear before a six member church board of inquiry at diocesan headquarters in Bethlehem, charged after allowing two female priests to celebrate communion. Bishop Lloyd E. Gressle declined to comment on the charges. The Rev. Gose reportedly permitted Carter Heyward and Allison Cheek to celebrate communion at his Reading area church after their July ordination in a Philadelphia service not recognized by the diocese.
