Pay Boost Goes Ahead for Military Pay Rise
The House Armed Services Committee approved a pay increase for most military personnel starting Oct 1, with a 5 percent flat raise for active duty and a 12 billion yearly cost. Retired personnel gain automatic future increases, while a separate family separation allowance is created. The plan excludes those with under two years service and rejects recomputing earlier retirees’ pay.
