Two women were abducted and assaulted by a large unknown man in Long Beach. One, 56, and the other 21, were grabbed from Anaheim Street and Euclid Avenue, choked, blindfolded, and driven to vacant areas before release. The attacker, over six feet tall, with light hair, wore a red striped shirt and blue jeans. Police seek leads.
Weather forecast from the LS Weather Bureau cites five days of blue skies through Saturday with scattered showers expected later. Long Beach rainfall totals show 21.51 inches for the season, well above last year. Monday’s storm brought thunder, winds to 50 mph, and hail. Torrance residents sandbagged near Paseo de Gracia as runoff rose, while snow fell to 12,000 feet in the mountains. Santiago Dam in Orange County is filling and may overflow, adding flood risk to Santiago Creek.
