Three ERCOM Members Quit Over Power Dispute

Three county Employe Relations Commission members Ben Nathanson Irving Helbling and Thomas Roberts resigned Friday after a dispute over ERCOM authority. Supervisor James Hayes urged consolidation with the Civil Service Commission and Supervisor Ed Edelman pressed for ERCOM to be given definite authority to settle labor disputes.

Police Slay Attacker of Mom and Friend in Home Assault

Hollywood police shot and killed 64 year old Alvin Morris after he allegedly attacked his mother Marion Morris and his roommate Andy Brosin 65 with a hammer and a wrench. Brosin escaped with head wounds and Mrs Morris lay wounded in the living room. Authorities cited Morris Parkinsons disease as a nervous disorder.
