Milwaukee resident Richard Scott, a prominent Oregon figure and past grand master of the Odd Fellows, died unexpectedly at his home after a Sunday in good health. Born in Devonshire, England, he immigrated to Oregon in 1879 and served as a trustee of the Odd Fellows Home.

Identity of Oregon City man found near Oswego
Effie B. Robertson of Lents identifies the body found near Oswego as her father F. A. Williamson. The remains contained 660 in twenty dollar gold pieces and a watch with her picture and a message declaring Williamson as her father. He died of a heart attack while wandering in the woods and had been dead at least six weeks.

Unusual Salem Auto Case Sees Damages Awarded
In Salem circuit court last week C. W. Cutsforth of Gervais sued M. Benjamin of Gervais for 940 damages after Benjamin’s prancing horses collided with his automobile. The jury found Benjamin at fault and awarded Cutsforth 400 in damages.

Scores of Horses Dying in Washington County
Pendleton reports nearly 160 head of horses dying and more affected by a mysterious disease ten miles west of Walla Walla. Veterinarians have conducted post mortems but have not determined the cause. A leading theory blames poisoned stubblefield fodder due to mould and fungus growths common in stubblefields.
