Special from Pedee reports J. J. Condron of Pedee Lumber Company shot a cougar half a mile from the Pedee sawmill after it menaced sheep. The animal resisted surrender, climbed a tree, and was shot in the eye, ending its threat. The cougar measured 5 feet 7 inches long.

Four claimants return from Cascades to Oregon City

W E Clark heard by telephone Sunday morning that Mr Stewart of Springfield fell 30 feet down an embankment and died instantly. Stewart was related by marriage.
