Mrs. Booth of Salem visiting sister Mrs. Wheeler. T. E. McKinney and family moving to Tharp place nearby. May Maxfield of Independence visiting relatives a few days. Mr. McBeth of Portland in town to oversee his large nearby farm.
W A Wash of Dallas made a business trip to Suez on Monday and returned Tuesday. John Quivey and family of Independence gathered apples for Mr J Roof on Saturday. Alda Wrom carries the mail this month while her father completes fall work. Mr and Mrs Bob DeArmond of Independence visited with his sister Mrs CB McLane on Sunday. Fred Suvet made a business trip to Independence Monday evening after school and returned Tuesday morning. Mr and Mrs A Ruef, Alan C W Steward and John Rosecrans traveled to Monmouth and Independence on Monday. R W Sink improves his school with 22 scholars enrolled and more to start after fall work. Hop Maxfield and brothers of King Valley went to Salem Friday and moved their brother’s remains to Kings Valley where their father is buried.
Rick Reall A. F. Stoner B. F. Lucas and Joe Castleine arrived Sunday to file on their claims Monday in Oregon City. W E Clark heard by telephone Sunday morning that Mr Stewart of Springfield fell 30 feet down an embankment and died instantly. Stewart was related by marriage. J Powell of Monmouth rode to Portland Friday.
