Born in 1822 in Dayton Ohio the elderly man was probably the region’s oldest resident. He lived in Walcott Indiana with his wife who died over twenty years ago and later resided in Oregon. He was father to four sons and two daughters two children having died. His body was returned to Indiana for burial beside his wife as relatives traveled from Ohio and West Virginia to visit in Indiana and Huntington.
