Salem real estate man murdered near reform school

J. E. Roberts a Salem real estate man was killed Wednesday afternoon by a robber near the state reform school. Five thousand dollars were found on him and a revolver was located nearby as a possible clue. Roberts was father to the Roberts Brothers who run a feed yard in Independence.
