Dallas Soldier Carl B Fenton Dies After War Service
Carl B Fenton of Dallas died Saturday from meningitis after illness two weeks. A 28 year old University of Oregon graduate and former Dallas College athlete, he served as first sergeant with Company L of the 161st Infantry. He previously taught at Eugene High School and was a standout on multiple teams at Oregon. He returned from war with health issues and died at home. He was the only child of Mr and Mrs Hl L Fenton and grandson of Pioneer Frank Collins.

Divorce settlement sought before separation decree
After lengthy hearings in the mar ital troubles of Lewis A. Tripp and Elsie Tripp Judge Belt refused a separation decree without a property settlement. Tripp agreed to pay his wife 3500, and the case was dismissed though the court has not ruled on who will receive the divorce decree.
